The League of Ordinary Gamers

The core concept behind The League of Ordinary Gamers is to offer an organized group and community for casual gamers. Do you like playing games on “Easy”? Are more interested in a game’s storyline than you are the level of ‘challenge’ it can offer? These are “Ordinary Gamers”, these are the people that make up The League.

The League Ethos

Do you like playing games on Easy? Are you more interested in having fun playing the game and immersing yourself in the plot, than grinding away trying to find each and every last collectible? Would you like to play your favourite co-op games with like-minded gamers, rather than try-hard, MLG wannabe’s?  Then you’ve come to the right place.

The League of Ordinary Gamers is a community of people who play games casually for fun.  We are not here to be the best, to win every game, or complete every game on hardcore settings.  We just want to enjoy playing, and share our enjoyment with like-minded gamers.

Rules and Guidelines

The League is a community, and like all communities a certain degree of respect toward fellow members is expected.  With this in mind, the following rules/guidelines have been set in place to ensure everyone gets the best out of the community, regardless of age, rank or skillset, and these apply to Teamspeak Chat, and the forums:

  • You must be over 18 years of age to join the League.  This is for legal purposes, along with the fact that we prefer more mature members, who can legally play games such as GTA V etc.
  • Please do not swear, abuse or flame/annoy other members – we’re all here to relax and enjoy ourselves, not to raise our blood pressure.
  • Please remember that not everyone likes the same game, not everyone may be at the same skill level as you, and some people may never have played a particular game before.  Try to show a little patience, and in the spirit of the League, help other players by providing hints or tips.
  • Please familiarize yourself with the Leagues Officers.  The Officers are the people who run the League and all have certain tasks and areas of specialty, and are there to assist members if they so need.
  • To be considered for a position of Officer, you MUST have a PayPal/Pitch-In donation Page, or at the very least a Patreon page. This is because the Officers are involved with the financial running of the League’s website, forums and servers… and League members may choose to support these Officers directly as a show of thanks for their efforts.
  • There will be a section on the Forums where you may make an application to become a Community Volunteer.  You may only apply ONCE.  Volunteers will be considered for promotion to higher ranks as and when staff are required, and depending on their conduct.
  • Members who do not follow these rules will be warned, temporarily banned, or permanently removed from the community at the discretion of the League Officers. You will be permitted to appeal a ban, which will be reviewed by the Officers. The decision made at the review of the appeal will be final.
  • Members are asked to report any incident of infringement of these rules to a League Officer.  Please do not engage in arguments with the alleged offender, as things will only escalate and cause further disruption.

Becoming a Member

League Membership is done thru application to the forums. Once a person has created an account on the League Official forums, filling out all pertinent account details in the process, they will be assigned a League Membership ID#. This ID# will be unique to that person, and will be used to to track their participation in League community events. All forum accounts must first be approved by a Moderator of the Forums before posting, replying or general community participation can commence by that applicant.

Building a Community

We here at The League of Ordinary Gamers are interested in fostering a community of like-minded gamers who can hang out together, and find others with which to share their favorite video game vices. We have some plans being developed for community events in the future, something that we hope will become more and more common as The League of Ordinary Gamers grows and develops. Stay tuned for more details!
